Abdul Gaffar Sheriff, along with Sir Mirza Ismail, was the moving force behind the forming of Cantonment, Gandhinagar, K R Market, Victoria Hospital and SJP Road. Another of his achievements was housing for poor at almost negligible rates. They still remember him for it.
